BOTOX® Cosmetic in New Hampshire

Many women and men begin to see the first signs of aging in the upper portion of the face. Whether the problem is crow's feet from smiling or forehead creases from frowning, our facial expressions eventually take their toll on facial skin, which loses elasticity over time. If you would like to delay the aging process and take a few years off of your appearance, BOTOX® Cosmetic may be a good option for you.

Dr. Jerome Sepic administers BOTOX for New Hampshire, Maine, and Massachusetts patients who want to look younger, but are not ready for plastic surgery. This extremely popular treatment can quickly and effectively provide temporary smoothing of forehead wrinkles, crow's feet, and neck bands, resulting in a more youthful, refreshed appearance.

How BOTOX Cosmetic Works

BOTOX Cosmetic is made of a purified protein that, when injected in very small doses, temporarily paralyzes specifically targeted muscles. Despite a common misconception, BOTOX does not "freeze" your face or limit your ability to make facial expressions. It disables tiny muscles that cause crow's feet, horizontal forehead lines, and vertical frown lines between the eyes without affecting the major muscles that control facial animation.

BOTOX Cosmetic has been proven safe and effective in extensive studies and trials, as well as in practical usage. It is consistently one of the most popular cosmetic procedures performed in the United States, with millions of satisfied patients making it a regular part of their beauty regimen. Many women use BOTOX in combination with injectable fillers such as Restylane® for a more complete facial rejuvenation.

Your BOTOX Procedure

Part of the appeal of BOTOX Cosmetic is that treatment is quick, relatively painless, and requires no downtime. At our New Hampshire plastic surgery office, the procedure takes approximately 15 minutes, and provides results which last up to 6 months.

Dr. Sepic begins by cleaning the area to be treated, and possibly applying a topical anesthetic. He will inject very small amounts of BOTOX Cosmetic through a tiny needle, which causes minimal inflammation or discomfort. The treated areas may appear slightly red after injection, but most patients are able to return to work or normal activities immediately.

Results typically emerge over the course of 5 to 7 days, and will appear natural but noticeable. Regular treatment with BOTOX Cosmetic may even have the effect of preventing new wrinkle formation, perhaps postponing the need for eyelid surgery or a brow lift.
